She may have started in hippie clothes as part of the team of Sonny and Cher, but Cher as a single has certainly broadened her appeal to all segments of the show business industry. We can take particular delight in a medley of Al Jolson songs included in her "Bittersweet" album. Click to hear the work, a medley of "Sonny Boy," "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody," and "My Mammy," done as only Cher could do them. It's not the way Jolson would have sung the numbers, but it does bring them to a much wider audience! Who knows, they might even look for the originals.
If you'd like to get a copy of this album, in which Cher sings some classic love songs, including "I Got It Bad And That Ain't Good," "Am I Blue?", "How Long Has This Been Going On?", "What'll I Do?", the Jolson medley, and enough other classic to make seventeen tracks, you can order the album right here.
